Make Rajshahi Medical College Hospital more patients-friendly

RAJSHAHI: Collective efforts of all authorities concerned including the local government institutions is very important for making the service-delivery activities in Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) patient-friendly, reports BSS.
There is no way but to improvement of services of the hospital for betterment of the people in general as many of the common people especially the poor and marginally are totally dependent on it for their emergency needs.
The observation came in a joint meeting of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and RMCH at city bhaban conference hall here yesterday devising ways and means on how to improve services of RMCH.
RMCH Governing Body President Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, addressed the meeting as chief guest with RCCs Acting Mayor Nizam-Ul Azim in the chair. RMCH Director Brig Gen Rafiqul Islam, Principal of Rajshahi Medical College Prof Dr Anwar Habib, RMCH Deputy Director Dr Sarwar Jahan and RCC Panel Mayor AKM Rashedul Hassan also spoke.
Lawmaker Badsha stressed the need for enhancing the number of bed in Intensive Care Unit and Coronary Care Unit and introduction of other emergency units for widening area of the service-delivery activities.
Doctors and others concerned should be more sincere and wholehearted in this regard. Emphasis should be given on making all the administrative and management activities including the services of doctors, nurses, medical technologists and others concerned transparent and accountable so that the patients could derive total benefits of the hospital.
