Members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan police (DMP) arrested two people, including the death-row convict in blogger Rajib murder case, from the city's Uttara area yesterday, reports UNB. The arrestees were condemned convict Redwanul Azad Rana, 30 and his associate Ashraf, a suspected militant. Tipped off, a team of CTTC unit of DMP raided the area and arrested them, said Deputy Commissioner (Media) of DMP Masudur Rahman. On December 31, 2015, a court here sentenced two people, including Redwanul, to death in a case filed over the murder of secular blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider. Rajib was stabbed to death near his house at Mirpur Palash Nagar in the capital on February 15, 2013.
