Intl conference at IUB tomorrow
A daylong international Conference titled China, India the United States in Bangladesh: Cultivating Competitive Cooperation will be helb on February 23 at the own campus of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) at Bashundhara, in the capital, says a press release.
The conference has been organised by the Global Studies Governance (GSG) Programme at IUB. In the inaugural session of the conference, US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ms. Marcia Bernicat will remain present as chief guest.
Ambassador Sumith Nakandala, Secretary General, BIMSTEC, Dhaka will also speak on the occasion along with former Ambassador Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Adjunct Professor of IUB and former Pro-Vice Chancellor of BRAC University.
Welcome speech will be delivered by Mr. Rashed Chowdhury, Chairman, Board of Trustees, IUB. Prof. M. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB; Dr. Mahbub Alam, Dean, SLASS; and Dr. Imtiaz A.
Hussain, Head of GSG program will also speak on the occasion. Abdul Hai Sarker, Chairman, ESTCDT will give formal vote of thanks upon conclusion of inaugural session.
Volleyball, handball tournament endat Gono Bishwabidyalay
The Annul Inter Department Volleyball (Male) and Handball (Female) Tournament 2017 Savar, ended yesterday, says a press release.
The tournament was started on February 15 on its playground. 17 male teams participated in Volleyball match. On the other hand, 11 female teams participated in handball match.
In the handball final match, Department of Pharmacy defeated Department of Microbiology by 9-3 goals. In the volleyball match, Department of Pharmacy defeated Department of Computer Science Engineering by 2-0 set.
At the end of the day male teachers and officers participated in the Volleyball friendly match and female teachers and female officers participated in the Handball friendly match.
