Tushar hits doube ton for South Zone

Prime Bank South Zone rode on Tushar Imran’s double century amassed 501 against BCB North Zone on the second day of the fourth round game of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP) Ground-4 yesterday.

At Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Islami Bank East Zone still have a deficit of 214 runs against Walton Central Zone.

Tushar Imran converted his overnight 127 to double century. By hitting 220 off 369, he stepped into the record book in first class cricket. He crossed the 9000-run milestone as the first Bangladesh batsman though he broke into the landmark on the opening day as he was just 14 runs away of the feat.
Khulna-born Tushar grabbed the record of the highest century hitter when he leapfrogged Alok Kapali (19) and Naeem Islam (19). Now the 33-year-old has a record of 22 centuries under his belt. He clubbed 22 fours and three sixes in his 453-minute stay at wickets.
Before being bowled, Tushar shared a couple of successful partnerships including 215-run with Shahriar Nafees for the fourth wicket and another 96-run with Mosaddek Hossain for the sixth wickets stand. Nafees fell for 74 and Mosaddek got out for 57 respectively.
In reply, BCB North Zone scored 107 for four with Nasir Hossain scoring five and Dhiman Ghosh making eight. Forhad Hossain went for 56. Nahidul Islam claimed three wickets for South Zone.
