BCB wants all full fit players to be selected

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will announce the 15-member final squad of the Tigers for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka today.

This time the board has decided to send one or more additional player or players with the final contingent like the last two consecutive away tours in New Zealand and India so that they have not fallen any problem due to player’s sudden injury.
It was being told from the selectors and team management that there will be no major chance in the Bangladesh squad though the management has concerns over one more players’ fitness.
But they said that they will finalise the squad after taking suggestion and reports from all the concerned persons.
In this regard, BCB director and its cricket operation chairman Akram Khan said that they have no more options in hands like other teams to replace in case of key player’s injury.
“Those who are doing well in longer version we are giving them more chances to play matches because our option is less than other teams,” said Akram Khan.
“If one of our key players sustained injury, we have to suffer for him. Even we could not get proper replacement of him. But we are trying to recoup it. Now we are taking additional players with the squad in very tour as backup,” Khan told reporters.  Asked if the squad will only be for Test series or other series, Akram said, “For the nonce, we formed a squad for the Test series. If we feel any more player is needed for the games we will then pick him.”
Citing the words of the last New Zealand tour, Akram said that they sent Mominul Haque with the team and got its reward. He also said that they have started to make player’s habituation since the early stage.
“Keeping the longer version in mind, we have started a longer version tournament for the Under-19 stage so that players could make their habituation and build up their temperament to play the longer version since the early stage. But it is a matter of time when we could produce quality players for discrete format,” the former skipper said.
“The door is always open for all. Those who will perform better we are picking them. But it fully depends on fitness. In New Zealand tour, our three key players sustained injury. In this situation, team becomes morally down. We have selectors, who are mulling over players,” he also said.
After the end of New Zealand and India tour, it was surfaced out that BCB may reduce the role of Mushfiqur Rahim, who dubbed as Mr Dependable. He captains the team in Test, stands behind the wickets and plays all the three formats for Bangladesh as batsman.
After Khaled Mahmud Sujon, BCB director and its cricket operation chairman Akram Khan defended Mushfiqur Rahim, stating that they saw him to slam hundred after fielding 160 overs.
“Last Test, Bangladesh played well throughout the five days, in where Mushfiq was  in the field in maximum times. After fielding 160 overs, he struck 100 and then did fielding,” Akram said, adding “The important thing is that what he wants. I think we have full faith in him. We first need to get his opinion. We are with him hundred percent what he wants.”
“Mushfiq opinion is very much important. If he says that he faces problem to do his jobs as he has to concentrate in three sections including captaincy, batting and wicket-keeping. We can take our decision after getting to know about his opinion.”
Mushfiq also opened his mouth during the one-off Test against India and said that he still enjoys in his each and every role in cricket.
