‘Bangladesh Film Festival’ to be held in India

On the occasion of the International Mother Language Day, Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI) has organised a four-day film festival with the titled ‘Bangladesh Film Festival’ in Nandan in India, where 10 Bangladeshi films will be screened.  
The festival will begin tomorrow on February 21, and continue till February 24. Noted Indian director Goutam Ghoshe will inaugurate the festival, while prominent Bangladeshi director Morshedul Islam will attend the festival as chief guest. Munira Morshed Munni will attend the occasion as the guest of honour and Arkadeb Bhaduri from Nandan will be present as a special guest.
The festival will be attended by the cast and crews of the selected films. Abu Sayeed’s National award winning film ‘Kirtonkhola’ will open the festival on February 21. The story of the film revolves around the riverside gypsy community.  The film stars popular actors Raisul Islam Asad, Pijush Bandyopadhyay, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Azad Abul Kalam, Tomalika Kormokar, Naila Azad Nupur and Mamunur Rashid.
Morshedul Islam’s ‘Anil Bagchir Ekdin’, a film based on a novel by late celebrated writer Humayun Ahmed, will also be screened on the first day of the festival.
Celebrated director Amitabh Reza Choudhury’s debut big screen venture ‘Aynabaji’, which went on to become the biggest hit film in the recent times, will be screened on the second day of the festival. Besides, Abu Shahed Emon’s Internationally-acclaimed multi award winning film ‘Jalaler Golpo’ (Jalal’s Story) will be screened as well.
Two other Bangladeshi films-- Ahsan Kabir Liton’s ‘Prottaborton’ and Morshedul Islam’s ‘Amar Bondhu Rashed’ is scheduled to be screened on the third day of the festival.
Moreover, on the final day, Tasmiah Afrin Mou’s short film ‘Kobi Swamir Mrittur Por Amar Jobanbondi’, Khandakar Sumon’s ‘Pounopunik’, Shabnam Ferdousi’s documentary ‘Bhashajoyeeta’, and Nurul Alam Atique’s ‘Doob Satar’ are scheduled to be screened.
