In observation of this year’s Shaheed Dibas and International Mother Language Day on February 21, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) has arranged a two-day programme featuring songs in different languages, recitation and dance. The two-day programme will begin today at the academy’s Nandan Mancha, where popular band Joler Gaan will perform at 5pm. The programme of February 21, tomorrow, will begin by placing wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar very early morning. Then, the cultural session of the programme will start with a group rendition of ‘Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano’, a song which is considered as the most influential song representing the Bangla Language Movement in 1952. Then, Dhaka Sangskritik Dal will present group songs on 25 languages on the premises of Central Shaheed Minar. Singers from Italy, Sweden, China, Iran, Russia, Korea and Bangladesh will some with solo songs, while singers Bhutan, Vietnam, France, Indonesia and India will render chorus at the event.
