Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal yesterday said the government has planned to set up BSCIC industrial estate near Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and Export Processing Zones (EPZ) for the expansion of small and medium enterprises, reports BSS.
“We have planned to set up BSCIC industrial estate near special economic zones and export processing zones for the expansion of small and medium enterprises,” the minister said when a delegation of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) called on him at his office in the capital.
Kamal also urged the businesspeople to set up industries in specialized industrial areas. He said power crisis will be solved in the next two years when the industrial and household users will get power as per their demand.
He said that it would be possible to achieve 7.2 percent GDP growth in the current fiscal year. “Even economic growth could stand at 7.25-7.50 per cent,” he added.
DCCI President Abul Kashem Khan led the delegation. Planning division secretary Md Ziaul Hasan was present during the meeting.
