Banglalink clinched the maiden title when they routed GrameenPhone by 61 runs in the exciting final match of the Corporate Cricket League (CCL) 2017 at the Gulshan Youth Club ground in the capital on Friday.
Opted to bat first, Banglalink mustered a comprehensive 170 for five in 20 overs with Ashraful Alam scoring brilliant 78. Imran of GrameenPhone grabbed three wickets.
Chasing the target, GrameenPhone were skittled out for 109 in 15.2 overs in the face of Minhaj’s devastating bowling attack. Minhaj snapped up five wickets.
.Ashraful Alam of Banglalink was adjudged player of the match for his outstanding performance with bat.
Dhaka City Corporation (North) Mayor Annisul Huq as the chief guest and distributed the prizes among the winners.
State Minister for Posts and Telecom Division Tarana Halim MP, Managing Director of Fiber @ Home Moynul Haque Siddiqui, DMD of Fiber @Home Rafiqul Alam and Head of Regulatory, Government and Public Relation Abbas Faruque were present at prize giving ceremony of the final match.
Tarana Halim speaking on the occasion said, “Sports is good for physical and mental health. This kind of cricket match play an important role to eliminate mental fatigue and job stress.”
Congratulating the champion Banglalink and other participating teams Annisul Huq said, “Sports can be one of effective means for establishing heart-felt communication among corporate companies.
The Companies should continue team effort for serving customers interest like they played in this league. ”
Other participant teams of league are Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division, Posts and Telecommunications Division, Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), Telecom Reporters’ Network Bangladesh (TRNB), Robi Axiata Limited and Fiber @Home Limited.
