Both men’s and women’s team of Bangladesh sealed their respective spot in the quarter-finals of the 4th Roll Ball World Cup 2017 at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.
Buoyant men’s team after scripting two successive victories against Hong Kong by 19-1 and Bhutan by 9-2 goals crushed Myanmar by 11-0 goals in the third group phase match. They confirmed their place in quarter-final as Group-D champion with one match to spare.
Rhidoy Hossain struck the highest three goals for Bangladesh. Arafat Alam, Sagor Hossain, Waliur Rahman scored two goals each, while Nowsif Hossain Dipro and Intisar Ahmed netted one goal apiece.
