Tushar hits ton in BCL

Tushar Imran smashed an unbeaten 127 off 234 as Prime Bank South Zone put on 292 for three against BCB North Zone on the close of the first day of the fourth round in the franchisee-based Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP) ground-4 in Savar yesterday.
At the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Walton Central Zone scored 232 for seven against Islami Bank East Zone.
South Zone opted to bat first after winning the toss on the batting-friendly surface and scored 56 runs from the opening stand of Anamul Haque Bijoy and Soumya Sarkar before Bijoy got out for 39.
Therefore, Soumya tried to build up a big partnership with his national team partner Imrul Kayes but the former unfortunately run out for 26.
Since then, Tushar Imran finished the day to pull together 158 runs with Shahriar Nafees.
Shafiul Islam and Sanzamul Islam picked up one wicket each for BCB North Zone.
Asked to bat first, Walton Central Zone fell into Abu Jayed Rahi’s pace bowling assault and lost two top-order batsmen-Abdul Mazid and Mehrab Hossain Junior cheaply.
Later Rahi took another two wickets to finish the day with 4-52. Opener Saif Hassan then tried to tackle the bowling attack with Marshall Ayub and slammed 53 runs for the third wicket.
