Zia takes solo lead in chess

GM Ziaur Rahman of Sheikh Russell Memorial Sporting Club took a solo lead in the International Mother Language Day International Rating Chess Tournament. The top ranking international player of the country pushed his collection to full six points at the end of sixth round games at the Ches Federation hall room yesterday. In 6th round GM Zia beat FM Emon.
 CM Sohel Chowdhury of Titas Club was in 2nd position with 5.6 points. Eleven players were sharing 3rd position with 5 points each. They were: FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Sheikh Russell Memorial Sporting Club, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman of Janata Bank, FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Access Chess Club, Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan of Fire Service, Md. Abzid Rahman and Md. Jamal Uddin of Sheikh Russell Chess Club, Nayan Kumar Mohanto of Uttara Central Chess Club, Md. Abu Hanif of Sonali Bank, Md. Faisal Hossain of Sultana Kamal Smirity Pathagar, Md. Nasim Hossain Bhuiyan of Royal Electronics and Nikhil Magizhnan of India.
