Bangladesh women tasted a thrashing nine wickets defeat at the hands of India in the second encounter of the Super Six of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier at the Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground in Colombo yesterday.
Asked to bat first, Bangladesh managed to put on a meager of 155 for eight in 50 overs what India comfortably chased down inside 34 overs with one wicket losing. Indian women put huge pressure on Bangladesh from the initial stage of the match by their disciplined pace bowling attack spearheaded by Shikha Pandey and Mansi Joshi. To break the pace barrage of Indian bowlers, Bangladesh lost their two top-order batsmen of Sharmin Sultana and Sanjida Islam inside 10 overs while they were crawling at 14 for two.
