DINAJPUR: Police arrested 42 persons including seven drug traders, and recovered illegal drugs Yaba tablets and 1,200 liters of locally made liquor from 11 upazilas of the district, reports BSS.
Police sources said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
Police said, during the drives from Thursday night to this morning, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested
seven persons including five drug traders, Phulbari police four, Birganj five, Kaharole three, Bochaganj three, Biral three, Parbatipur one, Ghoraghat four, Hakimpur police three including two drug traders, Nawabganj five and Birampur police arrested four accused.
Hakimpur Thana police recovered 388 pieces of Yaba tablets from the upazila during the period.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive recovered 1,200 liters of locally made liquor from Phulbari upazila.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
The arrested people were sent to jail this noon.
