The authorities of Jahangirnagar University handed over five suspected members of banned extremist outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to the RAB-4 from the campus on Thursday evening. The chief security office of JU Shudipta Shaheen confirmed the matter to the correspondent over a phone yesterday. The arrestees are -- Abdullha Tushar, Zahid Hossain, Abdur Rahman, Mominur Rahman and Rita Akhter, all are the resident of Islamnagar village adjacent to the JU campus. Sudipta Shaheen said JU security force detained them form ‘Shaptam Sayamancha’ premises while they were preparing to hold a secret meeting around 2pm. Later, they handed over them to Rab-4 after primary interrogation. They also seized some jihadi (religious uprising) books, forms of recruiting people from their possession, he added. They were all outsider on the campus, he said.
