BSS

Spreading and popularising the use of information and communication technology (ICT) and internet facilities among the common people would further accelerate the process for proper implementation of Vision-2021, reports BSS. Discussants made this opinion while addressing concluding ceremony of the
three-day divisional digital innovation fair-2017 organised by the divisional administration at Zila Parishad Community Centre on Thursday.
Hundreds of people thronged the fair organised to further accelerate the digitisation programme sensitising and bridging common people with ICT and reaching government services easily to their doorsteps in building a digital Bangladesh.
The Access to Information (a2i) Programme of the Prime Minister’s Office being funded by the GoB, USAID and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) extended assistance in organising the fair.
The district level government departments, non-governmental and private sector
organisations, union digital centres (UDCs),
financial and educational institutions and entrepreneurs of Rangpur division set up 40 stalls in the fair.
Divisional Commissioner Kazi Hassan Ahmed attended the concluding ceremony and distributed prizes among the best stall owners as the chief guest.
With Additional Divisional Commissioner Abdul Mazid (Revenue) in the chair, Acting Deputy Commissioner Sultana Pervin, Zonal Settlement Officer Abdul Mannan and Chief Executive Officer of Zila parisahd Ruhul Amin Khan spoke as special guests.
The speakers said the common people had been getting all government services easily at their doorsteps following successful implementation of a2i Programme for building a middle income digital Bangladesh through realising the Vision 2021.
”The government has already achieved tremendous successes in reaching e-services to the people in a hassle-free manner by virtue of digitisation and various innovative steps to attain the sustainable development goals by 2030 next,” chief guest said.
