MSC denied by other clubs to take services of foreign booters

Mohammedan Sporting Club is going to Chittagong to take part in the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup Football tournament with inadequate preparation, as they had not enough time to form the team.

Mohammedan, who have been drawn in the Group B along with the hosts and defending Chittagong Abahani Limited and Manag Marshyangdhi Club of Nepal are expecting to leave for Chittagong today.
The semifinalist of the first edition, Dhaka giants will begin their campaign with taking on the Manag Marshyangdhi Club of Nepal in the second match on February 19.
Abdul Kayum Sentu, newly appointed coach of Mohammedan, while talking to this correspondent yesterday at the club pavilion said that this time they could not take enough preparation for the tournament.
“We are not well prepared for the tournament, as we had some troubles, in fact we wasted our times participating in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup tournament in Magura held early of this month.”
“Though we are going Chittagong with full squad of 23 players but we had altogether including the foreign booters just two days before (February 14), so this is a great problem for us to prepare the team.”
Kayum also added some of his depressing not having the guests players from Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Arambagh Club they expected.
“It was another great disappointing for us when Russel and Jamal did not allow their players, we wanted as our guest players,” Sentu explained his disappointment and the reason not to have a strong team.
In all respect, the former national  booter said, “I am a bit happy with the group, as I think, apart from the host Chittagong Abahani, the other competitors will not too tough but the first match against Manag Marshyangdhi of Nepal will be a acid test for us.”
Sentu, the former Mohammedan’s booter is targeting to qualify in the semifinal, “We will be satisfied if we could play in the semifinal and it is the reality for us.”
