Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director and its game development chairman Khaled Mahmud Sujon expressed his optimism about faring well in the upcoming Sri Lanka series, stating that the way they played in last two away series if they could maintain it there, the better result will then be possible.

“The upcoming series in Sri Lanka is not only challenging but also important for us. I think we have been playing a good cricket. In New Zealand tour, Bangladesh played so good cricket. Even we finished Test in India in solid vein. Perhaps the result has been different,” said Khaled Mahmud.
But if we look at the process, then I say, in where we were correct sans a little bit errors. But such has been done because we used to play Test after a big gap in the past. Actually these were a good exposure for us in the last two consecutive series in New Zealand and India,” Sujon told media yesterday.
“Now we have series in Sri Lanka that is very important for us. I think we are up to the task. We all believe that we will play better cricket and I hope good result will be possible in Sri Lanka,” he added.
He admitted that they will stay ahead of Sri Lanka in terms of experience but he also said that they have to keep in mind they will
play against them at their home yard.
“Definitely, the experience at international level is important. We’ve Shakib, Tamim, Mushfiq and Riyad like players, who all have been playing since a long time for us. We will be ahead of them in terms of experience but we have to keep it in mind we will play in Sri Lankan home condition,” the former skipper said.
Later he said that they are enough capable of winning the series against them. He hopes they will play better cricket than them in three formats. The team they have they can win against them.
Mahmud defended Shakib what he said during the historic one-off Test against India that he will continue his game maintaining his own playing style otherwise he will not be the same.
“I think he is right. That’s not a bad decision,” Sujan said, adding that he will play the game on his own game plan, technique and style but in such situation he has to control himself. He has to control his emotion and analysis the situation.”
Supporting Mushfiqur Rahim, Khaled said that he will continue his wicket-keeping until he enjoys it.
“Mushfiq is very important for Bangladesh in three formats. It is up to Mushfiq how he feels workload more on him or not. But I think Mushfiq is enjoying wicket-keeping. He loves it. He could continue it whenever he likes,” he said.
“In any case, if he feels his workload more on him, then he should first talk with team management first and the board. Along with that, coach can say he will take a new keeper in place of him,” he also said.
When asked about Mustafizur Rahman, the BCB director said that they should handle him with care.
“I believe Mustafiz is ready to play in three formats. But we have to keep it in mind he is a key player of the team. He came up from a big injury layoff. Now we should have to handle him with care,” he said, adding “We have to decide what number of matches he could play properly being fit. It is important for us to ensure so that he could give his service for a long time.”
“Basically I feel proud to give my service to Bangladesh team. When the board wants my  services for the team task I will be with them but when they don’t feel I will also not be. But I want to stay with the team whether it is short-term or long-term,” Sujon told in response to a query.
