Costumes competition revives tradition

On February 11, the 2017 Colourful Yunnan Ethnic Costume Competition Cultural Festival and China (Zhiju) Yi Costume Competition Festival kicked off in Yongren County. During the Costume Competition Festival, Yi women dress up in hand-sewn costumes to contend in terms of beauty and fashion. Middle-aged and elderly Yi women also present themselves in front of people in their best festive attire. This excellent cultural tradition has been passed on for more than 1,300 years.
