Mobile courts to eliminate child labour

State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu yesterday told parliament that the government considers launching mobile courts against child labour in the country, reports UNB.s
"This is under consideration of the Labour and Employment Ministry," he said replying to an unstarred question from independent MP Rahim Ullah (Feni-3).
The MP asked whether the government will take any initiative to start conducting mobile courts against hazardous child labour.
The junior minister said 575 inspectors of the Factory Inspection Department are regularly monitoring child labour.
A total of 38 categories of work have been identified as hazardous in Bangladesh. According to the Labour Law, it is prohibited to employ children under 18 in these sectors, which include biri-cigarette factories, butcheries, tanne­ries and chemical factories.
