The Bangladesh Telecommu-nication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has cancelled licences of 157 call centres for not renewing the licenses in time.
The licenses were cancelled on Sunday, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) said in a public notice signed by MA Taleb Hossain, director (Licensing), Legal and Licensing Division of BTRC issued on its website in this regard.
The notice said as per the terms and condition of call centre licences, the holder of a licence may apply for a renewal of the licence before it expires. The companies did not apply for renewal of the licences in due time. Following this, BTRC cancelled the licenses of the companies.
