Stocks up for 6th straight session

Dhaka stocks entered the 6th straight session upward, with advancing further yesterday on higher activities. Securities, however, performed mixed as investors were mainly focused on capital, reports BSS. The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 29.29 points to finish the session at resistance level of 5558.57. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES were also up at 2024.76 and 1299.03 respectively.
The trade value was 13.10 per cent up at Tk 1093.50 crore when the trade value rose by 8.48 per cent to 28.54 crore shares.
Out of the day's traded 329 issues, 119 were up and 174 were low, with 36 others trading at their previous closing prices.  
Telecom, paper and printing and fuel and power were the day's major advancing sectors when bank, real estate and mutual funds incurred major loss.
Titas Gas was the top gainers, with PDL, Fu Wang Ceramic, ACI Formula and Doreen Power taking the following positions in the table for top five issues. The session's major five losing issues were NCCBLMF1, RSRM Steel, AL Arafa Bank, Family Tex and ICB2nd NRB.
Beximco Pharma topped the turnover leaders followed by Apollo Ispat, Lanka Bangla Finance, PDL and Doreen Power.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) ended the day bullish when its major CASPI finished 37.57 points up at 17197.79.
Some 21.06 lakh shares changed hands on the bourse for Tk 68.55 crore when 114 securities advanced and 125 closed lower.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange finished the day 33.82 points up at 5,546.29 on Sunday. The two selective indices - DS30 and DSES - were also marginally up at 2011.24 and 1294.78 respectively.
Majority of the issues traded on the two bourses closed the week up on moderate demand. Out of the 329 issues traded on DSE, 185 gained against 89 losing issues on Sunday.
