7 held with arms from DU hall

Police in a drive arrested seven outsiders along with arms from Surya Sen hall on Sunday night, reports UNB.
The arrestees were identified as Limon, Sunny, Riaz, Titon, Tapu Hossain, Emon Hossain and Sazib.
Police launched a raid on the Surya Sen hall around 12 pm and arrested them, said DU acting Proctor M Amjad Ali.
Police also recovered bomb making materials and pistols from their possession, he added.
BSS adds: Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crimes (CTTC) unit of DMP yesterday arrested an arms trader in old part of the capital and seized five firearms from his possession.
“The arrestee Nurunnabi, 32, of Jessore, was picked up from in front of Nawab Eusuf City Corporation Market under Bongshal Police Station at around 7.30 pm. Four foreign-made pistols, one one-shooter gun, 10 rounds of bullet, eight magazines and a motorcycle were recovered from his possession," a Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) release said.  A case was filed with local police in this regard.
