Mushfiq loves to do all three jobs

Amid the criticism over his captaincy and reckless wicket-keeping job, Mushfiqur Rahim revealed that he is enjoying his job regardless of what the people say.
Mushfiqur’s monotonous and one-dimensional captaincy exposed his lack of imagination ever since he was appointed as the captain and at the same time, his work behind wicket took a serious nosedive, prompting the critics to go harsh on him. His ability as a batsman however was never questioned and he is still considered as the best batsman of the side.
Two years ago, Mushfiqur Rahim was asked to concentrate on batting, leaving the job of wicket-keeping but he denied. Later the team management literally forcibly withdrew him from wicket-keeping job and gave the task to Liton Das who later got injured and lost his place.
However this time voice of the mass people rose higher once he made a school-boy like mistake behind the wicket and also put down a catch. India made Bangladesh paying the price heavily for those silly mistakes to beat them by 208 runs.
Yet Mushfiqur showed his reluctance to leave the job behind the wicket as he said, “My batting average is just 33 or 34 so how I can be the best batsman of the side. If I am responsible for two or three different duties that means team management trusts me. It’s my duty to do all the things perfectly. If I couldn’t do, the team management will definitely take the decision of their own.”
“But I am enjoying all those three jobs. I love to be on the field. I love my duties. But still there are some people in and off the field who are in the charge of taking decision. If they think I am not good enough than it’s okay. But if someone asks me, I’ll tell I want to continue all those three jobs simultaneously.”
His lack of imagination came to the fore when he made Shakib Al Hasan underused on the first day of the Test. India was piling on host of misery on the inexperienced spinners –Taijul Islam and Mehedi Hasan Miraj but Mushfiqur still kept Shakib out of the attack.
He explained: “Me and our team management had the plan of continuing with Miraj and Taijul because they have been bowling well as a pair. Shakib is not in such position that he would do a long spell. We are now using him to give a breakthrough because he has also a job in batting.”
