Youth shot at in AL infighting in MP office

A young man was shot during a clash between two factions of Awami League at the political office of MP Golam Dastagir in the capital’s Purana Paltan area yesterday, reports UNB. Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said a meeting was conveyed at the office of Awami League MP from Rupganj of Narayanganj around 5pm to settle disputes between two party groups. At one stage, an altercation took place between the two factions and later they opened fire at each other, leaving Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, 22, a support of the MP, injured. He was taken to the DMCH. Meanwhile, police detained Golam Dastagir’s APS Quamruzzaman for interrogation over the incident.
