Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu described the role of radio for economic and cultural development as unique, reports BSS.
“Radio initiates the demand for development, it creates awareness among people for democratic needs and satisfies the cultural needs and develops it further. Simultaneously, it does not concede any ground to militancy and promotes peace and development,” he said yesterday.
He was speaking at the Jatiya Betar Bhaban at Agargaon on the occasion of “World Radio Day”. Chaired by the acting director general of Bangladesh Betar, Shahjadi Anjuman Ara, the meeting was also addressed by Information Secretary Mortuza Ahmed as special guest.
