Afzal Hossain’s three books published this book fair

Besides his much-popular identity as a seasoned actor-director, Afzal Hossain has also been admired as a writer. His first book was published at the Amar Ekushey book fair jointly with his writer friend Imdadul Haq Milon many years ago. The book titled ‘Jubakdoy’ featured two stories each written by two friends. Then, his first poetry book titled ‘Shudhu Ektai Pa’ was published in 2011 as his other good friend media personality Faridur Reza Sagor took the initiative.
This time around, Afzal Hossain has come up with three new books for the readers at this year’s book fair. His books are ‘Kono Jonaki A Andhokar Chenena’—a book of poems, ‘Kathay Kathay Raat’—a compilation of writings on different subjects and ‘Jahangir Bashah-r Ghora’—a book of stories. All these books have been published under the banner of Ananya Prakashaki, the publishing house which published Afzal Hossain’s first ever book.
Afzal Hossain said about his books, “My friends knew that I used to write poems. However, I was inspired to write more after receiving huge response for my first book of poems. I write on different subjects on different occasions, and in this connection, a book is published also with theses writings. Besides, there is a story book for the readers. Overall, this year’s book fair is very much significant to me.”
To note, Afzal Hossain’s four published novels are ‘Birohokal’, ‘Kanamachhi’, ‘Parlena Rumki’ and ‘Kusum O Keet’.
