The third win power plant of Bangladesh was officially inaugurated yesterday at Kutubdia of Cox’s Bazaar. The other two plants are located in Mohurichar of Feni and Kutubdia of Cox’s Bazaar. A total of 20 turbines, each with 50 watt capacity is installed there to produce one megawatt electricity on daily basis.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid inaugurated the one megawatt plant constructed by the Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) at the cost of Tk 24 crore.
Praising this latest renewable energy initiative, Nasril said that the country should increasingly turning towards exploring renewable energy resources like wind power.
Ashiq Ullah Rafiq, lawmakers of Kutubdia, Dr Ahmed Kaikaus, Secretary of Power Division and Kahled Mahmud, Chairman of PDB were present at the occasion.
