Two people were killed and four others injured as a truck crashed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Dugia on Atpara-Netrakona road in Sadar upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Wahed Ali, 55, and Muslem Uddin, 40, both residents of Rupchandrapur village in Atpara uapazila.
Additional superintendent of police Khan Muhammad Abu Naser said the truck heading towards the district town from Atpara smashed the three-wheeler coming from the opposite direction around 8.30am, leaving Wahed, passenger of the three-wheeler, dead on the spot and five others injured.
Muslem Uddin died on the way to Mymenshing Medical College Hospital. The other injured were admitted to the hospital.
Police seized the truck but its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
