Stocks finished the week yesterday up with a recovery trend as the major price indices were found finishing upward with rising participation of investors particularly around large-cap stocks reflecting the daily turnover, reports BSS.
The trade value at DSE increased to Tk 913.55 crore from last week Tk 745.99 crore while the trade volume also rose to 26.02 crore from 22.81 crore shares of the last yesterday.
DSEX closed at 5,512.46 with adding nearly 147 points over the week. Accordingly, the blue-chip DS30 ended over 45.47points up at 2002.36 and the Shariah DSES about 30.14 points higher at 1284.93.
Out of the 331 traded securities, 275 closed higher against 39 losing issues when 17 remained unchanged.
During the week, the top five gainers were Lanka Bangla Finance, Republic, Central PHL, Progressive Life Insurance and ANLIMAYARN.
The five major losing companies included Saif Power, Dulamia Cotton, National Life Insurance and Shyampur Sugar. The top five turnover leaders were PDL, Lanka Bangla Finance, Saif Power, ACI Formula and Beximco.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up, with its major CASPI index ending 442.72 points higher at 17,045.45.
Like DSE, most of the issues traded here closed higher when both the trade value and volume of shares increased significantly.
