Hawkers demo for resolving their problems

Leaders of different groups of hawkers’ organizations yesterday reiterated their calls for rehabilitation of the hawkers evicted from the pavements of central Dhaka streets through talks with the Dhaka South City Corporation. Their call came at a rally in front of the National Press Club in the capital. They also staged a march up and down the Dainik Bangla crossing, Purana Paltan to the Press Club pressing for their demands.
Hawker leaders from the Bangladesh Hawkers Union, Jatiya Sanmilita Hawkers Jote and Jatiya Hawkers Jote leaders addressed the rally presided over by over by convenor of Hawker Samannay Parishad Abul Hossain. Among others, Sekander Hayat of hawkers union, its advisor Murshikul Islam Islam, Harunur Rashid of Chinnomul Hawkers League and Convener of Hawkers Union Abdul Hashim Kabir spoke at the rally.
