ID cards for genuine fishermen demanded

Speakers at a seminar demanded the government to provide identity (ID) cards to the genuine fishermen and prepare a digital data for them.

Addressing the seminar at CIRDAP auditorium on Wednesday, they also demanded for recognising and addressing the contribution of the fishing community to national economy. 
State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda, who addressed the function as the chief guest, observed that cooperative and legal agreements among the respective ministries would help to ensure fishermen’s rights.
