Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested six suspected members of a human trafficking gang from different areas of Dhaka and Narayanganj on Wednesday evening, reports UNB.
The arrestees were identified as gang leader Jakir Hossain, 55, Marjina Begum, 25, Mohammad Titu, 29, Sagor Hossain, 22, Jesmin Begum, 37, and Alamin, 27.
Tipped off, a team of the elite force conducted drives in different areas of Dhaka and Narayanganj and arrested the six gang members in the evening, said senior superintendent of police Mizan, deputy director (Media) of the Rab headquarters.
The elite force members also rescued a victim named Bayezid, 8, from the clutches of the human traffickers, the SP added.
Rab members also recovered one pistol, one magazine, three bullets, 1020 Yaba pills and 23 narcotic injections from their possession.
