A least two persons, including an elderly man, were killed in separate road accidents at Sher-e-Banglanagar and Paltan thana areas in the capital on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, reports BSS.
The deceased were identified as an employee of a pizza shop at Uttara, Maksudul Karim Raihan, 30, son of Miron Nabi Bhuiyan, a resident of house no- 49/25, Chan Miah Housing at Mohammadpur and Shaikh Abdur Razzak, 55, son of late Shahor Ali, a resident of Merajnagar, Kadamtali.
The first accident occurred around 8.15 am when a private car hit the motorcycle of Raihan, sub inspector (SI) Bachchu Miah at police camp of DMCH told BSS.
Local people rushed him to Suhrawardi Hospital and later he was shifted to emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the attending doctors declared him dead around 9.15am. His body has been kept at the morgue of DMCH for autopsy, the SI also said.
In the second accident, a speeding vehicle hit an elderly man Razzak under Hanif Flyover at Gulishtan around 11.30pm on Wednesday and he died on the spot, Sub Inspector Mirza Jahangir Hossain told BSS.
