“Going crazy for Chinese characters” competition held in Dhaka

The Third “Going Crazy for Chinese Characters” Calligraphy Competition, sponsored by the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh and jointly organized by the Confucius Institute at Dhaka University and the Institute of Modern Languages of Dhaka University, was recently held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

According to Zhou Mingdong, Chinese president of the Confucius Institute at Dhaka University, the calligraphy competition’s scale, number of entries and influence were greater than those of previous sessions. More than 50 entries were collected. Following a primary selection process, more than ten soft brush and hard-tipped pen calligraphy works were shortlisted. In the end, a Bangladeshi boy named Wang Gang won first prize.
