On January 18, an A300-600 cargo aircraft from Uni-Top Airlines launched its maiden flight from Kunming Airport to Dhaka. The journey marked a major breakthrough in Yunnan Province’s construction of an air logistics passage connecting it to South Asia.
Uni-Top Airlines is the first cargo airline to settle in Kunming Airport this year. The Kunming-Delhi and Kunming-Mumbai cargo routes operated by Uni-Top are Kunming Airport’s most recently launched international cargo routes. For these two routes, there will be three flights per week; with outbound cargoes mainly consisting of electronic products, and inbound shipments made up of auxiliary materials and semi-finished products from India. The Kunming-Dhaka cargo route will see six flights per week; with outbound cargoes consisting of textile raw materials, clothing auxiliary materials and cloth. Meanwhile, expected inbound cargoes will be mainly containing fresh and live products from Bangladesh. All these routes will employ A300-600 freighters, which provide a maximum payload of about 48 tons and a maximum full load flying time of six hours. Departing from Kunming Airport, these planes can cover economically important cities in India, Bangladesh and other South Asian countries.
