50 maunds of jatka seized in Lakshmipur

Police in a drive seized 50- maund of jatka (small hilsa fish) from Poura Asram area under Ramgati upazila of the district yesterday. Police also arrested three persons and produced them before a mobile court yesterday noon, reports BSS from Lakshmipur.
The court fined the trio Taka 5,000 each.
On a tip-off, a team of police from Ramgati Thana intercepted a truck in the area and recovered the jatka after searching the truck and arrested the trio. Later, they were produced before the court, said Iqbal Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of the Thana.
The seized jataka was distributed to the poor and different madrasas and orphanages in the district.
