Demo for student union election continues

The activists of a faction of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Bangladesh Chhatra Union (BCU) units of Govt Brojo Mohon College (BM) continued their demonstrations on the campus demanding immediate students’ union election.

They laid siege to the principal’s room for one hour after locking the academic building gate. Principal of the college Prof Emanul Hakim was not present during the demonstration. At one stage the agitated students removed the chair of the principal and took it to the outside of the academic building. Police later rushed to the campus and took the situation under control but failed to recover the chair of principal till filing the report.  
Tensed situation has been prevailing on the campus and academic activities also been hampered due to demonstration on the campus, said general students.
Mentionable, a faction of BCL group of the college has been staging demonstration on the campus since Tuesday for the same.  Bangladesh Chhatra Union joined the BCL yesterday expressing solidarity with the demand.
