Eight Shibir men held in Rangpur

RANGPUR: Eight Islami Chhatra Shibir activists were arrested from a coaching centre in the city while they were planning for conducting subversive activities in a secret meeting, police said, reports BSS.

Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) of Kotwali Thana Azizul Islam told BSS on Tuesday night that police on secret information conducted a raid at Retina Coaching Centre in Dhap area of the city on the morning.
During the raid, police arrested eight Shibir activists, including General Secretary of Rangpur Medical College unit of Islami Chhatra Shibir Khondker Enamul Islam Shaon, from a secret meeting.
The other arrested Shibir activists were Abdullah Noman Shakil, Ibrahim, Rabiul Islam, Mahmudul Haque, Ariful Islam, Shahin and Raju, he said. After primary interrogation, police filed a regular case against the arrested Shibir activists.
