A special court in the capital yesterday fixed February 26 for delivering its judgment in a case filed over the death of minor boy Jihad in 2014, reports UNB.
Judge M Akhtaruzzaman of the Dhaka Special Court-5 passed the order after closing the law-point arguments from both sides. Advocate Alauddin Al Azad stood for the petitioner while Advocate Jashim Uddin represented the state.
Earlier, on October 4 last year, a court framed charges against six people over the death of Jihad, a four-year-old boy, who died after falling into an abandoned deep tube-well in Shahjahanpur area of capital on December 26, 2014. The six accused are Shafiqul Islam alias Abdus Salam, contractor of M/S SR House, Md Jahangir Alam, senior sub assistant engineer (inspector of tube-well division) of (BR) its assistant engineers Md Nasir Uddin, Zafor Ahmmed Shakir, Dipak Kumar Bhowmik and Md Saiful Islam.
Earlier on April 7, 2016, police submitted the charge-sheet over the death of Jihad.
