The third Shitalakhya Bridge is going to be construction in Narayanganj at a cost of about Taka 450 crore, reports BSS.
Saudi Arabia will finance the 900-meter bridge that will connect Narayanganj Bandar and Sadar Upazila.
To begin the construction work, Roads and Highways Department (RHD) yesterday signed an agreement with a Chinese construction firm at a hotel in the capital in presence of Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader, said an official release.
RHD Chief Engineer Ibne Alam Hassan and Sinohydro Corporation Limited Vice-President signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Shamim Osman, MP, Selim Osman, MP, and senior officials concerned were present at the function. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the construction of the bridge will begin in the next month and it will end by March 2020.
