Cap sellers see dull business

Only three days left for the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, prayer cap (topi) sellers in Jessore are not happy with the turnover. There is no cap factory in Jessore town. Only four tailors are specialised in making prayer caps.  “We have to purchase more caps from Dhaka to sell here.” said cap seller Abdullah Al Shakib at Collectorate market.
The caps are selling between Tk 10 to Tk 100 each this year.  The incessant rains have affected the business here. The sale was good last year.
The women tailors are making trendy caps of various designs and colour to attract buyers.
