HYDERABAD: A BCCI observer will oversee the first Test match between India and Bangladesh scheduled to begin on February 9, a bench of the Hyderabad High Court has maintained, reports Indian Express.
The bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Shameem Akther issued the directions while hearing a PIL filed by M Govinda Reddy, an advocate, alleging that the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) was not acting in accordance with various guidelines issued by Justice Lodha committee.
The bench made it clear that the HCA’s old committee of 2014 will deposit the Association funds in bank account and it will spend them only after consulting the observer. The BCCI will appoint one more financial observer who will streamline the financial working and the 2014 committee will work under him.
Report in this regard will be submitted to the court by February 27.
