Appreciating Bangladesh’s rapid progress, Malaysian High Commissioner in Dhaka Nur Ashikin Mohd Taib has said Bangladesh and Malaysia can grow together by strengthening ties between the two countries in all aspects, reports UNB.
’’We (Malaysia) are growing and you (Bangladesh) are growing. Let’s grow together’’, she said emphasising joint efforts to have stronger ties between the two countries.
The High Commissioner said she will work to further foster relations between the two countries not only focusing on business ties but also other aspects of ties during her tenure in Dhaka.
High Commissioner Nur Ashikin was addressing a function in the city on yesterday night marking the 12th anniversary of Well Food, a food chain wing of Well Group of Industries.
She said there are many things in common between Bangladesh and Malaysia like culture, food and people are very hospitable.
Praising the growth of Well Food, the High Com-missioner said the food brand could be MacDonald’s of Muslims.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Syed Nurul Islam said Well Food is not only in Dhaka and Chittagong; rather Well Food has its presence in London, Dubai, Sydney, New York, Bangkok, Bhutan and Nepal.
‘‘We are trying to go all over the world. We treat this brand as image carrying brand of the country’’, he added.
Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and founding chairman of the Well Group of Industries Abdus Salam also spoke on the occasion.
