Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Fazle Kabir yesterday asked bankers to ensure proper banking services in their banks for bringing down the country’s position in doing business ranking to below 100 from the existing 176 within fiscal year 2019-20 (FY20), reports BSS.
“Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) has taken an initiative to make ease the doing business. Customer friendly banking service is essential to make fruitful the initiative,” he said.
The governor was addressing at an annual report unveiling ceremony of the BB’s Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department (FICSD) for 2015-16 at its headquarters in the city.
Fazle Kabir called for arranging training programmes for bank officials especially front desk officers and others for better customer services and friendly environment in the banks.
“We see, banks arrange different training programmes only for high officials. But it is more essential for front desk and other desk officers,” he added.
He, however, said a complain desk would have to be set up in every bank for submitting the customers complain and urged banks to solve the complains within a short time.
