Improved services being provided to indoor, outdoor patients

RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) is now providing improved services to both its indoor and outdoor patients, reports BSS.
“We are now capable to provide better services to the patients,” said Brig Gen Rafiqul Islam, Director of RMCH, while talking to BSS here yesterday. Step has been taken to creating patients-friendly atmosphere everywhere in the hospital as many people especially the poor and marginal are totally dependent on it for their emergency health problems.
Taking the issue of patients’ pressure into consideration a senior doctor has been appointed in each of the 57 wards side by side with the intern ones round the clock. Close circuit television cameras were installed to control indiscriminate visitors.  “We are working relentlessly for making the hospital's service delivery activities more effective and need-oriented through arranging public awareness meetings frequently,’’ he added.
Necessary measures were adopted for ensuring close relation and coordination between the service providers and recipients as a whole.
Utmost emphasis is being given on making all the administrative and management activities including the services of doctors, nurses, medical technologists and others concerned transparent and accountable so that the patients in general could derive total benefits of the hospital.
Need-based renovation and maintenance works are being implemented for the 530-bed hospital.
