Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in separate drives arrested four muggers in the capital on Monday night, reports BSS.
A team of Tejgaon Police Station detained Sagar alias Ridoy, 23, and Md Babu, 18, as they were mugging people in front of Bottomley Home School in Tejgaon at around 9.15 pm, a DMP release said. Police recovered two sharp weapons from their possessions.
Meanwhile, a team of Mohammadpur Police Station picked up two muggers at around 7.15 pm from in front of Mohammadpur branch of Aarong. Cases were filed with local police in these regards.
Another report adds: Detective Branch (DB) of Police in another drive arrested a man and recovered a foreign made pistol and four bullets from Karergaon area under South Keraniganj Police Station yesterday noon.
The arrested was Jashim, 45, resident of the same area. On a tip-off, a team of the DB police conducted the drive in the area and arrested Jashim with the firearms, a DB official said. A case was filed in this connection.
