Abahani to play last match under coach Kottan today

Abahani Limited will play their last match under their coach George Kottan today as the German due to leave Bangladesh tomorrow.
Kottan, former Bangladesh national football team’s coach, joined Abahani ahead of the Bangladesh Premier Football League in January and is leaving before five matches remaining.   
Abahani manager Sattayajit Das Rupu informed yesterday that they had contract with Kottan for six months, which had already ended early of this month and he (coach) has no scope to stay here any long.
Rupu said, “Our league had to defer for different issues for the national team’s assignments, like, Bangabandhu Gold Cup, international friendly football matches and the World Cup qualifying round matches.”
“So it becomes difficult to extend the contract with Kottan, as he has engaged with FIFA programme and scheduled to leave tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, George Kottan, who talked to this correspondent early of this month, said that he has no way to stay with Abahani, as he has some programme with FIFA.
“I made a contract with Abahani for six months, which was finished on July 4 but this time here the league break albeit, so according to our contract we have to end it tomorrow.”  
“I have a contract with FIFA to work with Goal Project and it is not possible to stay here. I requested FIFA to extend my joining date but they did not allow, they permitted me only for few days.”
“I like Abahani, I like Bangladesh football, never say good bye,” Kottan said replying to a query.
