The real killers will get exemplary punishment so that no one could dare further to kill anyone in such a way,” she said while talking to reporters after visiting Rajon’s parents at Bade Ali village in sadar upazila in Wednesday.
Earlier, the junior minister went to Rajon’s house around 1 pm and consoled his father Azizur Rahman and mother Lubna Begum.
Replying to a question, she said a meeting will be held soon at the higher level over forming a tribunal to try child repressors and killers. “The government is trying to ensure proper investigation and trial of such incidents.“
Meher Afroz also handed over a cheque of Tk 1 lakh to Rajon’s father.
Azizur Rahman thanked the prime minister, the state minister and all concerned for being with them at this trying time, and hoped that the killers will get the highest punishment.
Meanwhile, the district administration has announced to provide Tk 2,000 per month to Rajon’s family.
The 13-year-old boy was brutally tortured to death over a theft at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city on July 8.
The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident and uploaded it on the internet. The video clip went viral on social networking site Facebook and video-sharing site Youtube which caused an outcry.
