Bangladesh opener Imrul Kayes sidelined from the one-off India Test series with thigh injury yesterday.
Kayes sustained injury in his thigh during the fielding in the two-dayer practice match against India-A at the Gymkhana Cricket Ground in Hyderabad.
Promising all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain Saikat replaced injured Imrul Kayes. Saikat will fly for Hyderabad to play the historic Test match against next door neighbours today.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon confirmed the news and said that Kayes will be replaced by Mosaddek Hossain.
“Imrul Kayes yet again sustained injury in his thigh what he got at the time of the first Test of the two Test series against New Zealand last month. Meanwhile a replacement player has been sought from us. Mosaddek Hossain Saikat will replace injured Kayes,” said Nazmul Hassan.
First time, Imrul got injury in New Zealand during the first Test against the Black Caps. As a result, he had to return home from New Zealand not to play the second and last Test match.
